These four arenas offer starting points for our shared work during the CAN-Do workshop.
Each one represents a field where choices we make today shape how Fiji — and Oceania — might flourish tomorrow.
They are not boxes to keep ideas in, but open spaces where themes overlap and connect.
Human flourishing depends on resilient communities; resilient communities rest on strong cultural foundations; and all are sustained by our kinship with the living world.
Explore whichever arena speaks to you most — or wander between them. Every voice adds something different to the canopy of futures we are imagining together.
However, we are also keen to allow workshop participants to identify their own areas or arenas of discussion. It’s just a question of pitching your preferred topic on the day.
Each theme set is described with detail to spark recognition and conversation, while leaving scope for participants to adapt, reframe, or add their own arenas. The current theme sets are:
Human Flourishing – living well, learning deeply, and finding meaning in work, care, and creativity.
Community Resilience – building local strength through connection, fairness, and shared wellbeing.
Cultural Foundations – drawing wisdom from our traditions to guide a just and inspiring future.
Environment & Kinship – caring for the land, sea, and sky as part of our extended family of life.
