As Fiji moves towards the future, why don’t we discuss things such as:
Fiji is losing some of her best people towards other countries – why and how do we reverse this?
How can we adapt to this future without having to rely on first world countries?
We have a strong community based culture. Why are there so many homeless people on the city streets then?
Open discussions about what it means to be ‘healthy’ and how we can move into a future that blends the best of modern medicine and traditional healers.
Tradition that is rooted in the past and honours our ancestors helps to define Fiji. Culture which is not the same, is about shared values in a time and place. What is the right balance between these two?
Discussion on: the role of a more unified architectural ‘vibe’; future town/city planning; opportunities for all; resilience in the face of an unpredictable future.
This is a one day ‘futuring’ workshop where parents and friends of MIS and likeminded forward thinking people get together to explore, imagine, and act toward a future where Fiji thrives in mind, body, land, and spirit.
A workshop that takes place over the course mid morning to mid afternoon (9am-3pm), this is a wonderful opportunity to ‘dare to dream big’ and imagine the world that Fiji could become.
We see that the world is changing fast: climate, technology, global relations, and the environment are shifting in ways that affect all of us — and particularly the Pacific. In Fiji we feel these changes close by. We do not propose to have concrete answers, but we believe that together we can walk more thoughtfully into what comes next.
Over the coming years, we hope FFF becomes more than a workshop — a living practice, a regional gathering, a tradition. This site gives you a taste of what FFF is about, what to expect, and how you might prepare if you want to get some orientation.
From 9am-3pm

What is a ‘CAN-Do’ workshop? Honestly we are open to the acronym ‘CAN” but for the moment we take it to mean ‘Creative Action Narratives'
Our inspiration is TED Talks, but then we realised that we do not just want to ‘talk’ we need to actually ‘do’.
Our rationale is that by dreaming large and big, we act as role models to our youth. Not only do they see us engaging with the issues of today, but they also see that we can actually be inspired, and enjoy being stretched creatively to anticipate Fiji’s future. By engaging in discussions we feel that we are part of the active forging of Fiji’s possible positive futures.
